What Are RBC Indices?
Red blood cell indices are calculated or measured parameters reported as part of the complete blood count. They describe the size, hemoglobin content and hemoglobin concentration of circulating red blood cells.
The principal indices are mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) and red cell distribution width (RDW).
